Jessie Appleby
An Iowa native, Jessie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in 2009 and her law degree from Georgetown in 2018, where she was the notes editor for the Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy. She is a member of the D.C. bar. Before joining FIRE, Jessie worked on war crimes and human rights violations for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Pristina, Kosovo, and, most recently, as a death penalty law clerk with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in Columbus. In her free time, Jessie can be found traveling with her sketchbook or exploring her new home of Philadelphia.
