Komi Frey

Komi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, where she conducted independent research on the role of attachment security in children’s prosocial development and graduated with highest honors. Komi then worked as a lab manager and taught undergraduate research assistants how to identify subtle indicators of research subjects’ psychological states. She went on to pursue her Ph.D. in social psychology at the University of California, Riverside, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Komi’s research investigated the conflicting values that shape professors’ views of policies aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work illuminates — and provides potential solutions to — the challenges FIRE faces in its quest to instill the importance of civil liberties in academia.
