Raul Ruiz
Raul joins FIRE after working as an associate for Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago, where he litigated various complex commercial cases, including class actions and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes arbitrations. Raul also actively worked on behalf of plaintiffs to vindicate their First Amendment right to free speech. He lives in Northern Virginia and is a member of the Illinois Bar. Before practicing law, Raul was a history and government teacher in San Diego, California, and wrote a novel set in 16th century Mexico. Raul received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, his master’s in education from the University of San Diego, and his law degree from Yale Law School.
In his free time, Raul writes fiction, reads, attends concerts, travels, and enjoys the outdoors.
