The College Free Speech Rankings offers students, parents, professors, administrators, and any other interested constituency unrivaled insight into undergraduate attitudes about and experiences with free expression on their college campuses.
It’s that time of year, friends of free speech! For the fourth annual College Free Speech Rankings, FIRE and College Pulse surveyed 55,102 college undergraduates at 248 schools about their perceptions and experiences regarding free speech on their campuses—and the results might shock you.

The 2022-23 College Free Speech Rankings are based on the voices of 45,000 students currently enrolled at over 200 colleges and universities.
The second annual rankings were based on the voices of more than 37,000 students at 150 colleges and universities.
The first annual rankings were based on the voices of 20,000 students at 55 colleges and universities.
